PDI Recovery & Tow Points - Suits 80 105 Landcruiser
In our quest to build the ultimate 105 we have addressed another thing that didn’t seem quite right. All tow points we have seen hang down and get hit while off-roading, they also only have 2 bolt holes.
The PDI Tow Point suits 80 105 Landcruiser is made from zinc plated flat 12mm plate and has three holes to secure to the three M12 threaded holes in the chassis. With a 50% increase in shear strength and even larger increase in strength when side pulling due to the increased (x2) leverage these will get you out of trouble rather than stopping you from getting in or out or a steep climb.
Supplied as a pair, with high tensile M12 bolts and washers.
Shown bolted to 105 series with ARB bullbar.
PRONE TO CHIPPING: Powder coating adhesion to zinc plated steel is inferior than application onto bare steel.
Due to the location and application of tow points we chose to first zinc plate for long term aesthetics and then later considered surface coatings. Once they chip (after their first use with a steel shackle or hook), a PDI tow point won’t go rusty and the zinc plating will sacrifice itself over any steel it is connected to, due to anode/cathode reactions.
