PASCOFIX industrial glue is a high-class quality product in the adhesive industry. It represents an absolute Sensation in the area of adhesive bonds. The high quality of PASCOFIX industrial glue is obtained through the purity of its distillation. At the moment it is not possible to reach a higher degree of distillation, thus a higher quality. This explains the almost unlimited field of application. Virtually every material can be bonded together. Tips and Tricks
Cleaning / Replacing the dosing tip:
Everybody knows the problem - You bought just any kind glue, and suddenly the day comes on which you really need it. You get the superglue from the cupboard/fridge and you realise it is DRIED OUT - but not with PASCO. We do admit that with PASCO-Fix it is possible that the dosing tip gets clogged up, if it has not been used for a long time. If the tip of PASCO-Fix is clogged up ...
!!!!! - NEVER CUT OFF, DRILL OR BORE INTO THE TIP - !!!!!
The dosing tip of all PASCO products are identical and can be removed and replaced!!! Take PASCO - FIX and Pasco-Clean out of the fridge/cupboard. Carefully remove both dosing tips from the bottles and swap them around (put the clogged tip from PASCO-Fix onto the bottle of the cleaner and vice versa). Close the cleaner (with the clogged tip) and place upside down (tip first) into a glass and leave overnight to soak . On the next day you will find that the dosing tip is clean and unclogged, like new. Should any residues remain in the tip, it is possible to easily remove them by using a needle or tooth pick. The exchangeable tip system is one of the key factors of our success.
Storage of cyanoacrolate adhesives:
We can generally say that the colder the reaction adhesive is stored, the longer the storage life. A temperature of at least +10°C or less is proven as sufficient to store household amounts for 2 - 3 years. Larger packages should be kept cooler or even be frozen. From approx. -5°C the ageing process is generally interrupted (depending on the degree of distillation). However, great care should always be taken that the containers are closed tightly, so that air moisture can not get to the adhesive. The disadvantage of cooler storage: if the adhesive is taken directly from the fridge or freezer, it is too cold and so it reacts very slowly or not at all. Rule of thumb: the colder cyanoacrolate adhesives are stored, the longer the storage life - BUT !!! - the best processing temperature for caynoacrylates is, and always will be, room temperature.
Pretreatment of materials:
The most important point when adhering (no matter which adhesive) is clean, dust-, rust- and greasefree surfaces. No adhesive in the world can adhere to greasy or dirty surfaces. We advise cleaning the surface which is to be glued with agents containing acetone (for example brake-cleaner, pure petrol or PASCO-Clean). A mistake which is often made - cellulose thinner !!! Doesn't work - can't work. Cellulose thinner contains grease! The cleaned surface begins to shine, but not because it is clean, it is because it is greasy. So take a little time to clean / pretreat the materials, that will do the trick.
A small difference:
What is the difference between superglue and industrial glue? Principally all reaction adhesives are produced by the same method. The magic word is "CYANOACRYLATES". This is a kind of basic substance of which all "superglues" are built upon. Depending on the demands to the adhesive, special additives and substances are added. When this formular is complete (nobody will reveal the secret to you) everything is put into a giant pot and is distilled - just like brandy. Now the exciting part begins - the process of distillation. The higher the degree of distillation, the better the adhesive. BUT !!! The higher the degree of distillation, the less remains in the big pot, and the more expensive the result is. For this reason adhesives of different quality are pumped out during the process of distillation. That is the whole secret. Ready for a catch-question? You have just bought some superglue for € 1.- in a supermarket or DIY shop, on the same day you buy some industrial glue (for example PASCO) at a trade fair. When you look at both bottles, both show "Cyanoacrylate" on the ingredients. Have you bought the same glue twice??? Have fun brooding over it ... PASCO - industrial glue is only offered at trade fairs or in authorized specialist shops.
Cleaning of skin and hands:
When working with PASCO - Fix you have most probably got some glue on your skin or fingers. DON'T PANIC!!! The human skin is always a bit greasy. Grease is the greatest enemy of glue - so PASCO stays on the surface of the skin. Normally you can carefully and slowly seperate fingers which are stuck together. Residues on the skin can be removed with Pasco clean and a little patience. A pumice stone is ideal for cleaning skin. If you don't have one at hand, take a piece of tinfoil (ca. 30 x 40 cm) and screw it up tightly to a ball - it works wonders. People with extremely dry skin should moisturize the hands before using PASCO-Fix.
The most common mistakes:
Anybody who has worked with Cyanoacrylate adhesives knows about the problem of clogged tips. Two grave mistakes are often made here. 1). - The clogged part of the tip is cut off again and again, which makes clean and exact dosing almost impossible. Even worse is mistake nr. 2) - The tip is drilled into with a fine drill, or a thin nail is bored into the tip until it is unclogged. If you are lucky, you can do this 2 - 3 times, but as soon as a contaminent (e.g. the propene which clogged the tip)falls back into the bottle, the adhesive reacts within a few days and becomes adamant. Later people complain about the bad glue ...
