The LPC is designed to control the internal line pressure on the A442F using boost pressure instead of a cable linkage system.

Why? To increase the range of movement on the cable, giving the ability to run lower pressure at light load for smooth gear changes and increased pressure when the engine is making more torque than standard.

The normal method is to play with the adjuster on the cable so higher line pressure is applied when at full throttle, but due to the limitation of movement on the cam, we don’t get full range so the low throttle pressure is higher and gearbox is more clucky at low throttle (than before).

Also since on a turbo diesel, the torque comes from boost, we thought to have a boost regulating line pressure instead and the results been great - super smooth low throttle shifts and very positive engagement when pushing harder.

Only suitable to a turbo diesel since until boost is being made it won’t start moving the cable. If you have a turbo petrol FZJ105, contact us as we can source an electronic actuator for the cable (for computer control).
