300 Series Intercooler Fan Kit
300 Series Intercooler Fan Kit
We are expecting release early 2025 - taking pre-orders.
Like all PDI intercooler setups we aim to provide maximum efficiency for low speed and high load situations.
PDI Fan kit has a PWM controller and large Spal thermo-fans to push air through the twin factory heat exchangers, (located under the headlights).
The PWM controller monitors ambient and intercooler coolant temperatures and will have 4 different curves of fan speed against temperature. This means a quiet mode that does the minimum cooling possible to maintain driving performance OR an aggressive mode to achieve max cooling. A timed full speed option also exists for dyno runs or when you’ve given it a hard time.
The original heat exchangers are well sized, but appear to have insufficient cooling (from air flow), due to the location and proximity of the body structure behind them.
The main ECU regulates the speed of the pump that moves more water between the intake mounted cooler and the heat exchangers. For normal driving the heat-sink of the water does a well enough job of stabilising the intake temp, but when constant load is applied the temperature of the water rises quickly. As the temperature rises, the ECU limits the maximum fuel delivered and reduces the torque and power.
PDI have designed an advanced fan speed controller for the 300 series. The system monitors the intercooler water temperature and adjusts the fan speed to maintain optimal temperature. Variable profiles are possible, to keep noise to a minimum or to achieve the lowest possible temperature in the given conditions.
