If you need maximum air density for your Holden RC Colorado (or Isuzu D-Max and 4JJ1 powered Holden RA Rodeo) look no further than the PDI intercooler kit.  This will be noticeable from the moment you start driving it.  We’ve had a customer who planned to do this as step one of a series of upgrades since he was towing, but due to the increase in available torque he was very satisfied.  We would also expect you to get improved fuel economy from the leaner air fuel ratio to make the same power. The 3L Isuzu engine with the 4JJ1 has shown to have great potential for those wanting to achieve more. A number of bolt on power upgrades are available, but with the factory top mount intercooler power delivery is limited as inlet air temperatures rise with increased boost or sustained high load. At 565x310x76mm, the core is 30% larger than other kit offerings and will benefit from being placed closer to the radiator (than other designs) to optimise cooling efficiency through air being pulled through by the main engine fan. Winch compatible as it sits behind the vertical support frame. The clearances are perfect for us to maximise the intercooler size.

Additional Information

Connection of the turbo is a 2” straight silicon into a 2” 180 stainless bend to drop down behind the airbox. The pipe expands to 2.5” after the 180 and joins onto the intercooler with another 2.5” straight silicon. On the cold side the intercooler is connected with a 2.5” straight joiner and then we have a custom 180deg elbow that expands to go onto the up facing factory inlet manifold adapter.

If you have a 2″ body lift, then typically this just requires the silicon onto the turbo and onto the intake manifold to be kept slightly longer.

Whenever a sustained load is applied to these engines the factory intercooler is unable to constantly dissipate the heat and therefore the factory ECU works to maintain safe combustion temperatures through fuel reduction.  That means if you are pulling a load up a hill the power available drops.

With a PDI front mount upgrade, you will be able to maintain the power and torque available on a cool day when driving on a hot day – even when working hard.  The kit and system is robust and also won’t let you down.
