It’s no coincidence that OEM manufacturers place radiators at the front, airflow matters. If you are running an aftermarket airbox let us know in the comments section of your order so we can supply a different hot side pipe.
Stainless MAP filter is to replace the factory plastic unit, that cracks and a pressure lower (than actual value) is measured at the ECU. The ECU then tightens the vanes to achieve target boost, which can overheat and damage the vanes.

After fitting to a couple of high powered Hilux’s, which already had a front mount intercooler, we have seen an increase in power delivery across the range as this larger core has allowed an even more aggressive tune.

Why Front Mount Beats Top Mount

Top mount intercoolers are popular due to ease of installation and bonnet scoop aesthetics but they simply can’t match the performance of a properly designed front mount.

A front mount intercooler delivers:

  • Better cooling at both low and high speeds
  • Consistent airflow regardless of driving conditions
  • Lower intake temps and improved engine efficiency

EGT Gauge.

If you plan to install an EGT probe, we recommend doing this into the dump pipe after the turbo. Recently we have decided to stock an EGT probe system that uses a Class A probe with 2m long lead and digital display making it easy to read and mount. We have another option in green that has a smaller thread for mounting into intake air temps if you wish to see how you system is performing. These can be purchased HERE

Following upgrading to the larger Mk2 kit (from a 500mm wide core) it has been reported that the engine is more responsive across the whole rpm range.

This is the largest core you can fit (possible due to our custom end tanks) and still retain the factory grille and any bumper/bullbar option. Additionally the tapering in of the headlight/grille line is matched by the end tanks to complement the design of the front of the vehicle.
