We’ve seen on the Next Gen V6 Rangers that the factory radiator has very little additional cooling capacity under heavy load.
When towing a large caravan, adding extra coolers in front of the radiator can result in engine temperatures rising. This highlights a potential weakness in the factory cooling system, and we hope to see an upgraded radiator become available.
With tuning now available for the Next Gen Ranger and Super Duty ECUs, we’ve also become aware that the factory fan can remain at around 40% speed until approximately 109°C coolant temperature.
Tuners are currently working to identify the fan control tables and how fan speed can be adjusted based on temperature and engine load.
It will be interesting to see how this develops, particularly for vehicles being used for heavy towing and increased power.
Fully cast end tanks ensures they are the strongest possible and least likely to split along a seam. We aim to replace the rubber hoses with push on connections (at the bottom) with stainless and a silicon joiner at each end.
Will be supplied with robust silicon joiners and clamps to go underneath and join into the factory plumbing. This means the problematic push together connections are removed from the system.
Our intercoolers will lower intake temperatures and these have been a great mod on many vehicles.
EGT Gauge.
If you plan to install an EGT probe, we recommend doing this into the dump pipe after the turbo. Recently we have decided to stock an EGT probe system that uses a Class A probe with 2m long lead and digital display making it easy to read and mount. We have another option in green that has a smaller thread for mounting into intake air temps if you wish to see how you system is performing. These can be purchased HERE
