The PDI short shifter reduces the travel to about 60% of normal throw. The result is a much more defined engagement of gears. We’ve been running a couple of these (in our FTE converted 105 and 79 series) and have really come to like difference. The shifter feels really normal and when getting back into any other manual cruiser the gear lever travel seems excessive.
There are 3 different stick shapes to suit the different models. If you have a 105 and have fitted a H151 or H152 from 80 series or 79 series then you will need to select the 80 series shifter since it has 2 bends and moves the shifter back away from hitting the dash.
